At Listening Well Counseling PLLC our mission is simple: we seek to provide each client with the highest quality care in a safe and convenient manner through telehealth. Dr. Christenson provides active listening to determine what your concerns may be across all aspects of functioning – mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health. She seeks to collaborate with the individual to implement evidence based methods of healing that create hope, joy, peace, and understanding.
Dr. Christenson is a licensed Clinical Psychologist with more than 20 years of varied experience in the field of mental health. She graduated from Immaculata University in 2004 with a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English and a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Human Relations from Villanova University. She is certified in Elementary Education and Elementary School Counseling.
Dr. Christenson has worked in the fields of public education, higher education, community mental health, private practice, wraparound services, and government. She has a broad base of clinical training and experience in outpatient therapy with individuals and couples, psychological testing, brief therapy/EAP, and in the partial hospital setting. She has been trained from a psychodynamic orientation and draws upon an eclectic approach to working with the whole person. She has basic core skills training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, an attachment based treatment for couples. She is certified in EMDR through The Institute for Creative Mindfulness and is currently working towards EMDRIA certification.
Dr. Christenson enjoys working with adults and young people over the age of 16. She provides a positive, relational style in order to facilitate the client’s desired changes.
She is a member of the Pennsylvania Psychological Association and the American Psychological Association.
